Why do I need a Bevcon Beverage Monitoring System?
The answer is simple: Bevcon systems will not only make your bar more efficient - they will save you money. The sad reality is that no bartenders are perfect and too many are dishonest. Real-time monitoring, linked to your POS, enables you to hold bartenders accountable for their performance.
Can't variances be controlled through the Stock Control module of my POS system?
All POS-based stock control systems rely on periodic stock-takes, resulting in reports generated well after 'shrinkage' has occurred! Traditional stock control programs are not able to specify exactly when and where product goes missing - making it impossible to assign individual accountability. We don't replace your POS system's stock control package - we complement it and add to its capabilities.

How does stock go missing?
Percentage-wise, waste (sloppiness, overpours) is often the biggest culprit particularly where draught beer is concerned. Dollar-wise, however, theft usually accounts for more, given that retail value(as well as cost) is lost when bartenders:

- give drinks to their mates
- pocket money without ringing up sales on the POS

How much can I expect to save? How long will my Return on Investment be?
While individual results will naturally depend on management diligence and on initial starting points, realistic expectations, based on reported results are:
While individual results will naturally depend on management diligence and on initial starting points, realistic expectations, based on reported results are:
- 10-15% when monitored bulk spirit systems are introduced, saving money through accurate pours, integrated inventory control, labor/service efficiencies and in some cases, lower product costs
- 3-6% increases where POS integrated draught beer and spirit-dispenser monitoring is introduced
- we have seen many venues recover their investment in as little as 6 months; most venues will see an ROI of less than 2 years
Is Bevcon only suited to large venues?
That's not the case at all - smaller venues require less equipment, and often have greater sales/tap ratios than larger operations. Many smaller operations will in fact see a Return on Investment equal to (or faster) than larger venues.

How often is maintenance is required for Bevcon Spirit Dispensers?
Trade Measurement authorities no longer specify a set period for calibration and Certification of Spirit Dispensers, but the onus is on the equipment owner to ensure that dispensers are properly calibrated. For most sites we recommend annual Service and calibration/Certification; very busy venues may require service every 6 months

Are maintenance contracts required?
While we offer contracts as a means of helping ensure regular service and maximising system longevity they are not required. Please note however that we do offer benefits to customers on such agreement

How will Bevcon draught beer flow-meters affect my line-cleaning procedures?
They won't. Bevcon flow-meters are suitable for commercial beer-line cleaners, and will accept reverse-flow (for those who flow beer back to kegs). The system is completely transparent to cellar staff; unlike competitor's systems, no by-pass procedures are required

I currently use EMU or ETN4 Spirit Dispensers - can they be monitored as well?
Yes - we can monitor both brands - but please note that EMU's must be equipped with the manufacturer's 'Computer Interface Module'
